Xtrend Broadcom 7424 receiver under development

Xtrend It has been a while since we had any new receivers from Xtrend but now it seems that we will not have to wait much longer.

According to reports Xtrend is currently working on a new Twin Tuner Receiver which will be using the Broadcom 7424 chipset.

With this new chipset we will see Gigabit Ethernet support and probably transcoding as well like on the Vu+ Solo2.

The name of this new Xtrend model is not yet official but if everything goes to plan the launch of this new receiver will happen within a few months probably April/May 2013.

The much discussed Security Board is not going away on the new receiver but Xtrend promises that the new receiver will have an improved Security Board less prone to defects.
