CoolStream Tank – New Quad tuner receiver coming soon

CoolStream the German Neutrino OS based manufacture of Linux receivers seem to be going for a high end quad tuner receiver. This new receiver is named CoolStream Tank and seems ready for battle with 2 fixed tuners on board along with a the possibility of adding a dual tuner module (DVB-S2 or DVB-C).

Inside the CoolStream Tank will see a 3D compatible 1250 ARMv9 CPU along with 512 MB FlashRom. Also Gigabit network connectivity is promised with fast access to IPTV and Hbb-TV. WLAN is possible via USB adapter.

On the pay tv side of things the CoolStream Tank is equipped with 2 Card readers, 1 SIM Cardreader with Conax and 1 CI Slot.  The front will include a 256 Pixel OLED Display.

For PVR the CoolStream Tank supports 3.5″ internat hard drive.

The CoolStream Tank will be the first Coolstream receiver with the new Coolstream QT operating system which promise fast channel zapping. under 1 second for HD channels even encrypted channels. Still the receiver will be a dual boot receiver and support the old Neutrino OS.

Expected price for the receiver will be around €350 and coming in March 2013. Update – Now seems April-May seems more likely.
